 With Japanese mobile phone market nearing saturation with 75% penetration, Toshiba is looking overseas for growth. Toshiba is Microsoft's preferred vendor for Laptops and tablet PCs and is also manufacturing Microsoft's music player - Zune.
Toshiba will initially launch one GSM mobile handset in India within a few weeks, which would be marketed and distributed by the company along with a UK-based trading company in the country
Toshiba is in tie up with HCL Infosystems Ltd to market and service Toshiba Laptops in India. It is not clear if HCL will be the retailer for Toshiba Mobile Phones in India as company officials didn't take any questions.
Toshiba has several models of Mobile phones TS808, TS705, TS608 and TS605.
