| Is Mobile aiding for Malpractices ? |
|
We all know that the Mumbai underworld banked heavily on Mobile phones and hence were made inaccessible in J*ils.
Their have been reports of Mobile being used as an aide in exams and hence District Magistrate in Merrut ordered mobile service providers to turn off their services during exams and elections.
India with 1 Billion population conducts so many exams and so many elections, this way the mobile service provider may have to switch off hsi service for mroe than 30 days in a year. Fantastic administration dear Magistrates!!! |

To overcome this barrier of sending SMSs abroad, telcos like Reliance Communications Limited and Bharti Tele-ventures Limited are in talks with global majors for a tie-up said ET.
Reliance Infocomm wants to launch the initial service as early as this week, starting with high-traffic countries like US, UK, Middle East and Far East. Idea Cellular sources said the company had MMS interoperability agreements with most GSM operators. Hutch and Airtel are also signing pacts with all global majors. | 5Paisa.Com to offer services on Mobile |
|
Just few minutes ago, I learnt that, IndiaInfoLine's 5Paisa.com, the pioneers in Internet stock trading in India at a brokerage of just 0.05% are now venturing into value added services on cell phones for their clientele. In a communication to the Mumbai Stock Exchange, they said, "The Company will provide its customers with first hand information about their own stocks and account positions." Additionally, the client would also get Market Updates, Real Time quotes about scrips in his account and day-end net position.
They are also planning to launch Mobile Phone Based Trading and are waiting for necessary approvals from regulatory. I am pretty sure ICICI Direct will soon join the bandwagon of Mobile Trading.

| Matrimony the Mobile Way |
|
Indians are obsessed with their mobiles. Mobile for shopping, stock trading, cricket scores and now for match making :-) Bharat Matrimony, one of the leading matrimonial sites will soon launch its mobile portal. (Link says under construction). Here is another page from the same website, grabbed from Google cache :P Looks like they have some operation through SMS.
The company has tied up with Hungama and Mobile2Win for content. I fail to understand why every major Indian portal has one track mind - Matrimony/Dating, Jobs, Classifieds and Travel makes their world. Maybe it's time they take some directions from a disruptive thinker like Mahesh Murthy and Dr. V Vinay of PinStorm. |
