RCom - SunTV form Mobile Content Partnership

Reliance Communications Ltd and SunTv have entered into a partnership where SunTV will make its content available to RCom subscribers.

SunTV content which is totally regional [South Indian Languages] can be viewed in two formats - Video Streaming and Clip Casting. Video Streaming is a stream of up to 5 Minutes and will cost Rs 15 / session. Clip Casting is a short 2 minute clip and is priced at Rs 7. Additionally, subscribers have to pay Rs 0.1 / 10KB of Data Transfer.

So if you view a Video Stream, which is approximately of 300 KB, you pay Rs 15 / session plus Rs 3 as network access charges + a service tax of 12.5%. All this takes your Bill to Rs 20 / clip. This is VERY VERY Expensive considering the Indian Entertainment Market where original DVDs are made available at Rs 45. Avoid using this expensive service until the rates drop down to Rs 2.0 / Video Stream.
