How to Screen Capture on Nokia Phone

Here is a short step-by-step guide to Screen Capture while you are Browsing on WAP or watching MMS clips on your Nokia Mobile Phone. You need to have this freeware installed - Also the instructions manual is here. [It is Adware and Spyware Free, we have tested it on Nokian N70 Music Edition]

Instructions for Installation:
Download the file to your PC and then transfer it to your Phone. Open the ".sis" file and go ahead with the installation. You will get warnings that the publisher is not certified, but that's OK. Warning is something similar to WHQL driver warnings on your windows, but this one is safe to install.

After Installation:
Change the keys to capture the snaps - I prefer the "Pen" and "#" key so that they can both be pressed at the same time easily.
Change Image Type to JPEG - High Quality. See the difference yourself in the images. The one on your left is with JPEG - Low Quality. The one on to your right is with JPEG- High Quality. We recommend JPEG - High Quality even though the size is little more than twice the size of Low Quality.

You can also capture snaps of streaming video or WAP sites [Google Maps] you would be browsing using your Opera browser.

Revenue per user hits record low.

The Average Revenue Per User [ARPU] / Month for a Mobile subscriber in India is now closer to Rs 200 / Month below which cellular services become unviable.

The ARPU for GSM service providers for the quarter ending March-31st, 2007 was Rs 300 [$7.5] and that for CDMA operators was mere Rs 256 [$6.5] per month. Globally, the ARPU is at $15. The fall in ARPUs is mainly due to fall in Roaming Tariffs and Rentals, NLD / STD charges.

Why Indian service providers have such low ARPU ?
It is due to the fact their are large number of pre-paid subscribers who do not spend more than Rs 250 / Month. India has 87% pre-paid subscribers. The ARPU of pos-paid subscribers is at par with global revenues at $15 / Month [Rs 613].

Telecom Analysts are not worried because of the economies of scale. Also due to the efforts of then IT Minister, Dayanidhi Maran, Telcos have infrastructure sharing arrangements which helps them keep their operations / working cost lower.

This will not affect the operators to provide plain vanilla of services compatible with 2.5G. However, if the operators are to bid for 3G licenses and deploy next generation networks, it will take a hit on their bottomline. It is really pathetic that Indian Mobile Service providers are hesitating to play it big in the fast growing broadband market with the exception of Reliance and Airtel.

Maxis+BSNL+Reliance Cellular Content Deals

Indian Mobile Operators and Value Added Service Providers are on a deal making spree.

Bollywood Content provider Hungama Mobile has launched Bollywood Express channel on Maxis mobile in Malaysia.

Disney's Hungama TV will air action show Zoran to Reliance India Mobile customers. They can access it through RWorld at a cost of Rs 15 for every 5 minutes.

Zee Telefilms group company, Digital Media Convergence has announced a tie-up with state owned BSNL - CellOne Mobile to provide content including News and Mobisodes.

However, all these services are still very expensive to take off in a big way.
